Bessie DUSTAN, his wife, of Meadowlea Dairy, Corstorphine died 11th December 1936 aged 63 years. Their son, our brother Frank, died 26th September 1928 aged 14 and Betsy died in infancy.

Alex Victor, Chief Engineer, SS Zealand torpedoed 28th June 1942 aged 45 years, interred Haifa and his wife Alice S. PATTERSON. Mary died 20th February 1976.

In April 1918 the second Battle of the Somme was raging. The British Line at Arras was broken under a bombardment of high explosive, gas and smoke shells. In June 1942 Britain suffered losses in Libya and Egypt. On July 6 the German advance was halted at El Alamein.
